Cosmos

Cosmos Network is an interoperable blockchain ecosystem built to enable independent blockchains (called “zones”) to communicate and exchange value securely via the IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) protocol. It uses a modular framework (the Cosmos SDK) and the Tendermint consensus engine to allow developers to spin up scalable, sovereign chains optimized for different use cases (smart contracts, staking, governance, etc.). The native token ATOM is used for staking, governance, and securing the network. Cosmos aims to be the “Internet of Blockchains,” focusing on sovereignty, security, scalability, and interoperability.
