Celestia ist das erste modulare Datenverfügbarkeitsnetzwerk und führt ein neues Paradigma in der Blockchain-Architektur ein, indem es die Consensus- und Datenverfügbarkeitsschichten von der Ausführung trennt. Das Netzwerk nutzt Data Availability Sampling (DAS), das es Light Nodes ermöglicht, Datenverfügbarkeit zu verifizieren, ohne ganze Blöcke herunterzuladen, und ermöglicht es dem Netzwerk, zu skalieren, wenn mehr Light Nodes beitreten. Celestias Blobstream verbindet Datenverfügbarkeitszeugnisse zu Ethereum und anderen Chains.
